1. Who is Ramona?

    Ramona is the founder’s mother. She is also a domestic violence survivor in recovery from substance abuse with three children that escaped an 18-year abusive relationship.

    Yes she is still alive and well. Ramona continues to share her wisdom with other women who struggle with their recovery

    Ramona’s Way was founded November 2001. They started providing services to the community September 2002.

  4. What Services does Ramona’s Way Provide?

    Services provided including counseling, support groups, community education, information and referral and assistance with admission procedures for emergency housing and treatment facilities.

  5. How is Ramona’s Way funded?

    Ramona’s Way is funded by private foundations, special events, corporate contributions, earned income, in-kind and individual contributions.

  6. Is Ramona’s Way a tax-exempt nonprofit organization?

    Yes. All contributions to Ramona’s Way are tax deductible.

    We are located at 1328 Southern Ave, SE, Suite 311 (Medical Services Building) Greater Southeast Hospital, Domestic Violence Intake Center, WDC 20032.

  8. Do you provide shelter?

    Ramona’s Way does not provide shelter directly; we assist women with getting into emergency shelter.

  9. Does Ramona’s Way serve men?

    No. Because of lack of services for chemically dependent battered women, we only help women who are survivors of emotional, physical and/or sexual abuse and who also abuse substances. Referrals for men's services are provided upon request.

  10. Who is the founder of Ramona’s Way?

    Ali-Sha Alleman is the founder. She is a childhood survivor of domestic violence. She is also a social worker with several years experience trained in domestic violence and substance abuse.
